Hi thanks for reaching out.
Please note that Data Lab was developed with the explicit vision that no-one has to download entire large datasets to do local analysis on them. Please consider working within the Data Lab ecosystem, to develop queries that will get you the subset of ls_dr9 that you need for your science. We provide a Jupyter notebook server, remote user file storage (VOSpace), and remote user DB space (MyDB) to enable such co-located data analysis.
Please peruse the many helpful resources, such as the User Manual:
https://datalab.noirlab.edu/docs/manual/
and the many default Jupyter Notebooks:
https://github.com/astro-datalab/notebooks-latest
to find examples and inspiration on how to proceed. We are happy to assist with any questions you may have.
Best,
Robert
