both desi_edr.photometry and ls_dr10.tractor_s have a column ls_id with identical description: the legacy ID of the object. yet, an inner join on that column renders an empty result.
what is the proper way to cross these tables?

Hi,
The ls_id column in the desi_edr.photometry table refers to the legacy IDs in ls_dr9, not ls_dr10. Try the inner join again with ls_dr9.tractor_s instead.
