Tutorial: Exploring DESI DR1 efficiently with the Astro Data Lab science platform and SPARCL spectral database

Tutorial to use NOIRLab's Astro Data Lab and SPARCL to access data with a focus on DESI DR1 and the Legacy Surveys imaging.

What: Exploring DESI DR1 efficiently with SPARCL and the Astro Data Lab science platform
When: October 8, 2025 from 10:00am-3:00pm MST
Where: Main Conference Room (MCR), NSF NOIRLab Headquarters, Tucson AZ

Before the tutorial:

  1. Register for an Astro Data Lab account here: https://datalab.noirlab.edu/account/register/

Day of the tutorial (Oct. 8):

  1. Go to Astro Data Lab's JupyterLab server and sign in with your Astro Data Lab username and password
  2. Launch a terminal instance in JupyterLab and clone the Tutorial-DESI-NOIRLab-2025 repository:
